TV Keeper is a free Fire TV helper that watches Kodi, catches crashes
and many stuck-screen moments, and makes recovery simple enough for
anyone holding the remote.

Downloader install
Install it from the TV, not a computer.
The real Fire TV path is Downloader: type the URL once, press Go, then Install. Keep this screen open while you do it on the TV.
Type this into Downloadertvkeeper.com/tvkeeper.apk
The button downloads the same APK. Most people should use Downloader on the Fire TV because it avoids moving files between devices.
Enable Apps from Unknown Sources.Open Fire TV Settings, find Developer Options, and allow installs for Downloader when Fire OS asks.
Install Downloader from the Appstore.Search for the free Downloader app on Fire TV, install it, and open it.
Enter tvkeeper.com/tvkeeper.apk.Type the URL exactly into Downloader's address field.
Press Go, then Install.Open TV Keeper after install and follow the setup guide for Kodi.
TV Keeper is fixing Kodi. Please don't press any buttons.
Opening Kodi again...
Kodi is back — 6 seconds
The recovery idea: freeze detected, clear guidance, then back to Kodi as quickly as Fire TV allows.
The story
It started with a black screen.
TV Keeper was built by the person the whole family calls when the TV
misbehaves. The Fire Sticks were set up with care, and yet the same
scene kept repeating: click Kodi, get a black screen, then walk someone
through settings over the phone.
The old way
The ritual, by heart
Press Home
Open Settings
Applications
Manage Installed Applications
Find Kodi
Force stop, then reopen
Try the show again
Sometimes several times in a few minutes, usually recited button by button.
With TV Keeper
The ritual, retired
Watched. Caught. Brought back.
TV Keeper gives the household a simple path back: open TV Keeper, press Reset Kodi when needed, and let the app guide the recovery. It is free because it was built to solve a real family problem first.
Built for my family. Yours is welcome to it.
Free to use; support it only if it helped.
How it works
Three jobs. It does them quietly.
1
Watch
A background watchdog keeps an eye on Kodi. It notices crashes, unreachable control, and many stuck-screen states.
2
Catch
Crashes are caught quickly; frozen-screen recovery is honest about its limits. It catches many freezes, not all of them.
3
Recover
Use Reset Kodi when Kodi acts up. TV Keeper restarts the selected app and never clears your app data, logins, or library.
Compatibility
Built for Android-based Fire TV devices.
No root. No Kodi modification. No fragile macros. The public APK is for Fire OS devices that can sideload Android apps.
Supported
Fire TV models
Works on Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Stick 4K Max, Fire TV Cube, and older Fire OS Sticks that support Android APK sideloading.
Fire TV Stick 4K / 4K Max
Fire TV Cube
Older Fire OS Sticks
Not supported
Vega OS models
TV Keeper is not supported on Fire TV Stick 4K Select (2025) or Fire TV Stick HD (2026). Those devices run Vega OS and cannot run Android apps from sideload.
If your Fire TV can install Android APKs through Downloader, use tvkeeper.com/tvkeeper.apk. If it is a Vega OS model, TV Keeper cannot run on it.

Yes. TV Keeper is free to download and use. There are no ads, accounts, or locked features. The support link in the footer is optional.
Do I need a computer to install it?
No. On Fire TV, install the free Downloader app and enter tvkeeper.com/tvkeeper.apk. Downloader fetches the APK directly on the TV.
What does TV Keeper do on Fire TV?
TV Keeper watches Kodi and helps recover it after crashes or many common frozen-screen situations. It does not modify your Kodi library, add-ons, or media.
Will it catch every freeze?
No. TV Keeper catches many freezes, not all. Fire TV and Kodi can fail in ways no watchdog can safely fix automatically, so the app keeps the recovery path clear when it cannot complete it for you.
Will it ever delete my library, logins, or add-ons?
No. Recovery restarts the selected app and never clears app data. Your Kodi library, logins, and add-ons stay in Kodi.
